Credit Bureaus, Are They Really Looking Out For Us?

In anything that you do in America that involves loans, payments, bills etc.. credit bureaus are attached to it. Why, because they are the one that provides credit information on individual borrowers. Which in turn help lenders asses credit worthiness, the ability to pay back a loan, and can affect the interest rate of the loan. And with my previous job of being a credit analyst for a car loan company it's not easy dealing with credit bureaus. They are a headache.

But let's face it, having a good credit is one of the most important if you'd like to be able to borrow money. And making sure that your credit history remains secure, you have to take care of it. Identify theft is very common now a days. But there are ways that you can protect yourself. One is by making sure that your credit report are accurate, putting fraud alert message if you think that you might become a victim. And if you don't have the time or perhaps don't want to go through the hassle of doing it, there is a company that can actually do much more for you with just a fraction of the cost ($10 per month or $110 per year).

Lifelock is one of the company that can do all the jobs for you. They can ask for credit bureaus to set a free fraud alerts in your behalf. This fraud alert is only good for 90 days, however, lifelock can ask the credit bureaus to set the alert again. They can also request to have your name be remove from pre-approved credit card and junk mail list and they keep making the request as they expire. Now, I need this. I been getting a lot of those pre-approved credit card and mails. And when I last checked my credit report a bunch of companies had actually requested for my credit report without my permission. They can order your credit report as well and be sent directly to your house. Now, this one we can do it on our own, but, would be nice to have somebody do it. All you have to do is sit back and they will mail it to you. Lifelock also mention that if your identity gets stolen while you are a member, they will do whatever it takes to get your good name back.
