Have you ping your blog recently?

I have been sleeping really late the past couple of weeks trying to make my blog known in the world wide web. However, I have noticed that those blogs that I have traded links with does not even show that they are updating their blog. This means that even though I have traded links with other blogs but they are not updating their blog every time they add new "stuff" (postings or links) it will not really benefit me (Technorati, Google rating) but on the other side, they benefit from me because I update my blog every time there is new links or postings on it.

So the question is, have you updated your blog recently? Did you "PING" it after you have added my link or have added a new postings? If your answer to these questions is no, then it's time for your blog to get updated and announce to the cyberspace that you have some new stuff on your blog.

This is when ping comes to play. According to Pingoat.com:

"A 'Ping' is a basic Internet program that lets you verify that a particular Internet address exists and can accept requests. The verb ping means the act of using the ping utility or command. But, pinging in the blog world means different, but still similar. There are certain services that scans blog regularly for updates and publishes the recently updated blogs (for an example). So once you've updated your blog, you should let such a service know that you have your blog has been updated. For this, you send a PING to the service. Most of the blog software have the ability to ping on their own. "

But for those that don't have the ping service, you need to make sure that you update. Some of the site that I use to ping my blogs are: Pingoat.com, Technorati's Ping Service and Ping-o-Matic. What ever that you use would depend on your preferences.

So next time you trade links with fellow blogger or have a new article on your blog. Give some love for your blog.
