Linking to dot Edu

Do you own a website or blog? Have you been working really hard in order to get links from other website? I do and it's not easy. Hopping from one site to another and asking the owner or webmaster of the website to trade links with you. And then of course when you link to other website or blog you have to make sure that it is relevant and have a good standing in order to boost your ranking as well.

But did you know that linking to a edu links (mydomain.edu) as far more better than linking to a .com, .net, .us, .org or .info but equally better as linking to a dot ORG links. The reason for this is because EDU and ORG links are well established and there is not many of these type of websites. Remember that in order to get a dot EDU or a dot ORG you must be a registered educational foundation or government agencies in order to get one. Furthermore, dot EDU websites are well known websites with thousands perhaps even millions incoming links.

So if you wanted to get a high ranking for your website you might want to try to get a link from one of the dot EDU sites that you know but make sure that the site is relevant to your page. Remember one of the key in high ranking is links to relevant page. Also a key ingredient is timing. Search engines like Google or Yahoo likes to see natural growth not an overwhelming flood of .EDU or .ORG links in one day or one week. Slowly time it. If there are a lot of people who wants to link to your website or blog, keep a list of it and set a schedule on when you are going to add it on your list.
