Wordless Wednesday

Let see if we can come up with dialog for some of the pictures that I have taken in the yard with my daughter in it.

...first she was facing away from the camera...

...all of a sudden she looks at the camera...

...now she is really in deep thought...

Co Sleeping and Your Baby

Last Saturday we started putting my daughter in her crib so she will learn how to sleep on her own and at the same time, she will sleep better, because every time we move she would always wakes up. We have been co-sleeping since the time we took her home. Maybe not so much when she was a baby because she sleeps on a bassinet most of the time but when she outgrow it, our bed became her bed.

An image of a baby and parents dozing off is such a pretty site for me. But the practice of co sleeping or sharing a bed with your infant is very controversial in the United States.

So why do parents choose to co-sleep with their children?
  • encourages breastfeeding by making nighttime breastfeeding more convenient. I can say that these is for real. I breastfeed my daughter and it makes it real easy if the baby is co sleeping.
  • makes it easier for a nursing mother to get her sleep cycle in sync with her baby's.
  • helps babies fall asleep more easily, especially during their first few months and when they wake up in the middle of the night.
  • helps babies get more nighttime sleep (because they awaken more frequently with shorter duration of feeds, which can add up to a greater amount of sleep throughout the night)
  • helps parents who are separated from their babies during the day regain the closeness with their infant that they feel they missed.
Although co-sleeping is not for everybody, for those who choose to co-sleep with their little one, here are a few precautions that you can follow to make sure that your little one is always safe.
  • Always place your baby on his or her back to sleep to reduce the risk of SIDS.
  • Always leave your child's head uncovered while sleeping.
  • Make sure your bed's headboard and footboard don't have openings or cutouts that could trap your baby's head.
  • Make sure your mattress fits snugly in the bed frame so that your baby won't become trapped in between the frame and the mattress.
  • Don't place a baby to sleep in an adult bed alone.
  • Don't use pillows, comforters, quilts, and other soft or plush items on the bed.
  • Don't drink or use medications or drugs that may keep you from waking and may cause you to roll over onto, and therefore suffocate, your baby.
  • Don't place your bed near draperies or blinds where your child could be strangled by cords.
Of course, where your child sleeps — whether it's in your bed or a crib — is a personal decision. You have to weigh the pros and cons, talk to your child's doctor about the risks, possible personal benefits, and your family's own sleeping arrangements.

Wholesale Products

If you are a small business owner like me, you are always looking for ways to minimize the cost of your products and wholesale products that you can sell for your business. You have to make sure that you are actually getting the lowest price because, most retailers don't really make a whole lot, unless you make the price of your products high, but then again you risk losing your customers. So it's always a dilemma for small business owners, but if you find the right wholesaler then you should all be set.

I remember when we were just starting our business, we jump from one product to another. We keep trying different products because we cannot find the one that sells good. And then one day, we just settle for something that we are passionate about.

My Typical Day or Night

I got this tag from Liza one of my mommy friend. I had some spare time.. actually I don't because I really need to finish reviewing for my Math test tomorrow, but my brain is just dead now that I can't solve the problems anymore, so Im going to blog for a little bit before I went to bed. Hubby is waiting for me now, I told him 10 minutes and were off to bed.. So I have to make this quick. So here goes the tag.

Questions:

What time do you usually wake up? It depends, if I sleep early then I usually wakes up at around 8 or whenever my daugther wakes up. But if I sleep late, then its late also. But tomorrow, I have to wake up at 7 because I have a class at 9am.

What’s the first thing you do? Go to the bathroom and wash my face.. dont ask me why.. but I just have to wash my face. I guess to wake myself up.

Breakfast? I usually cook some eggs, sausage and bacon.. then top it with break and orange juice. My daughter loves sausage so got to have it. If im too lazy, we usually eat cereal.

Do you go to work/school? I work 24/7 and goes to school part time. My work is free though.

Do you like it? Do I have a choice? Yes! I do like it.

If you stay at home, what do you do all day? Almost anything that can be done at home or outside the house. Which reminds me, I need to plant those bushes I got last week.

When’s lunch and what you eatin’? Lunch will be tomorrow and I don't know what we are having. Maybe just east out.

What time do you get home from work/school? I go to school at night, somebody has to take care of my kid when I'm not home.

What do you do? Everything...

Dinner: When and what? We skip dinner tonight.. I have to finish my Math Lab and hubby has to do his assignments also, so my daughter was the only one who ate. And we just had some late night snacks, hot coco for me and coffee for my hubby and some bread.

What do you do to unwind? Window shop and play with my daughter.

What’s your favorite part of the day? When everybody is sleep and I can relax.

Who’s your favorite person to interact with? Not really my favorite, but he is the only one that I can talk to... hahaha..my hubby..

When’s bedtime? After I finish blogging.. then its bedtime

Who’s bedtime with? Now? Everybody's bedtime now.

Have You Been to Canada?

So have you been to Canada? I've heard that it's a pretty country. Cold! Definitely cold. But I've always wanted to go there and do some sight seeing. Last year I thought finally I can go there because my sister's family is going to have a vacation and they want to go to Canada, so I was planning of having my family tag along. But, the vacation wasn't push through, instead their friends visited them. So they ended up staying here and of course we ended up going to Kentucky, which was alright.

But just the thought of the snowy mountains, desert prairies, rain forest and long white beaches. Lovely, lovely vacation. Flights to Canada isn't that pricey either. And if you really wanted to go on a vacation for the summer, you may want to considered going there.

My PR is Messed Up?

I was blogging last night and moving from websites to websites. And I just noticed that when I move from one site to another, my PR actually copied the last site that I was in. Like for example on this picture, I visited a site that has a PR6 and when I move back to my blog, it also says that my PR was 6. Must be nice to have a PR6. I could do a whole lots of things to my blog and earn more income with it.

The other night I even freak out and was telling my husband that my PR was messed up. And he was like, "huh! what's a PR?" So I have to explained to him what it can do and cannot do to my blog. But still must be nice to have a high PR... I'm only wishing...

Is Your Name Important?

A couple of months ago, we have been getting this junk mail about a Sweepstakes and it would say that we have been preselected to be the winner of something something. It gets annoying because we would get it every time. We didn't do anything with it until one day, my daughter got one in the mail. My daughter, who was only a couple of months, who doesn't even know how to say mommy or daddy that time, got the sweepstakes. Must be one lucky baby we got. So my husband was so mad that he called the number on the sweepstakes and just let it go with the customer support. I told my husband, it wasn't the fault of the customer support, but I guess when your working for the company, you are becoming the face of it.

But after that I started searching for information on how we can protect our information and luckily I found lifelock. And they offer what I have been searching for: Identity protection, reduce junk mail, reduce credit card offers, they even have $1 million service guarantee and it only cost $10.00 per month. Not too bad specially with the benefits that you can get.

Money Myths, Is it Holding You Back?

Our attitude toward money is learned behavior that is passed from generation to generation according to social learning theory.

Money spenders live by the phrase "but I might need it someday". Over spenders view possessions as central to their identity or see spending as a quick fix to create a mood change. We could probably put ourselves into this scenario. I know, I do. It's worth while to do some self searching towards our attitudes of money and how it affects our happiness.

For some or probably most of us, money is far more emotional topic. As I quoted by Sylvia Porter, an American economist and journalist, "Money never remains just coins and pieces of paper. It is constantly changing into the comforts of daily life. Money can be translated into the beauty of living, a support in misfortune, an education, or future security. It can also be translated into a source of bitterness."

We can almost sabotage our financial success and stability unless we deal with our unconscious attitudes towards money.

Many beliefs do not stand up to rational analysis. For example, we may believe that it is greedy to have more money, or simply that we are not the type of person that can have more money. So it may be worth taking a moment and check our money beliefs.

According to the author of Rules of Wealth, money is neither good or evil. Money is just a payment given in exchange for clever thinking and hardwork. However, he warns that many people believe that more money can solve all their problems. Sometimes, I think that way though. But having money won't make your relationship flow smoothly- not by long shot, it won't protect you from disease, it may buy you better medical health care but it won't protect you.

"The more you see money as a solution, the greater the chance that you are missing the point entirely. Money will not make you happier, thinner or more popular with decent people. Money does not deliver lasting, meaningful peace of mind...It is the oil that smooths the wheels. It isn’t the engine."

And with that, we can all make more money without losing sleep, compromising our principles, neglecting our families, losing our sense of humor or our ability to have fun. It is possible to have money and have a life, to be ethical and rich, to earn a lot and be a thoroughly nice person. It just sometimes seems that it isn’t. This is all part of debunking our personal money myths.

Add a Favicon to your Blog?

Have you noticed the pink flower on my blog url lately? On the left side of the url, on the menu bar, you can see a little pink flower that I have added. This is called FAVICON. It is actually a shortcut for Favorite Icon and it serves as a symbol for the site, sort of. You can choose which type of FaveIcon you would like to put, text or image.

If you would like to add one, you can follow these steps.

1. First you need to have the image on your computer.
2. Upload the file to a freeserver, like photobucket if you have one.
3. Login in to your account (blog account) then go to Dashboard, click Layout and then click Edit HTML.
4. Before doing the rest of the steps, make sure that you have a backup of your templates.
5. Copy the following code to your html codes just below the

(title)...(/title) * I change <> to ( ) so I can published it here.

(link rel="shortcut icon" href="URL OF YOUR ICON AT GOOGLEPAGES" /)

* Make sure to change the ( ) into <>. Copy the whole text in red and blue. The blue part is the one that you need to change. You can copy the url of the image that you have uploaded, let's say from photobucket.

6. Before you save your html, hit Preview to see your new icon.
7. Click on Save Template and see the new icon beside your url.

Kid's Tag

I've been tagged by Desperateblogger

and so I decided to post it here and beside the little baby is just adorable.

Copy here:

1. Answer the Kid’s Question by Gregory Stock, PH.D. Remember: Don’t respond as you think others want you to. Respond the way you actually feel!
2. Add your name (linked to your blog)
3. Tag everybody else!

Kid’s Question #1:
If you were the ruler of the world and you could have anything you wanted as well as have people do anything you wanted, do you think you would get greedy and mean or would you be a good and fair ruler?

Please answer the question and put your name and link after.

Jhong, Alpha, Women Xplore, Em, Something Purple, Our Journey to Life, My Planet Purple, Princess Bela, Princess Vien, cookie jar of entertainment, allinkorea, kim, idealpinkrose, korean food, Vamp Squad,Manna from Heaven,And Life Goes On, Can of Thoughts

My Answer:
Hmm.. this one is a little bit tough to answer... but let me try.

If I am the ruler of the world, that's a lot of headache. I'm not sure I can run the world. I probably have a lot of people helping me and I'm not sure if I won't be greedy.. the thing is, I am the ruler of the world, what else can you ask for? I can have my way. So I guess I would be greedy...in a good way.

Now, I am passing the tag to Me and My World My life, My World, My World in My Own Word, PinaydotUS, Housewife@work, Surviving Deployment

Can You Cross the River?

This is an IQ Test. When I got this one, it took me a long time to figure out how to do it.

So before you do the game, make sure to read the rules first. And no cheating!!

The object of the game is to get everyone across the river. Once you begin this
test, it's hard to stop. You feel so determined to get these people across. The instructions are listed below.

Here are the rules:
>Everybody has to cross the river is the ultimate goal.
>You can only put 2 persons on the raft at a time.
>The father cannot stay with any of the daughters, without their mother's presence
>The mother cannot stay with any of the sons, without their father's presence
>The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member, if The Policeman is not around.
>Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft

To move around:
>To move the people you have to click on them.
>To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.

Now that you are done reading the rules, click on the link, and then click the big blue circle to start the game. Remember it can be done. If you gave up and wasn't able to figure out the answer, leave me a comment on this post and I'll hit back on your blog and leave you the answer. Goodluck!!!

Big Machines

Do you remember when you were a kid and the things that scares you? Well, I do. I remember one time, when we used to live in the country me and my cousins was playing in the field and we saw this huge, gigantic machine that makes a lot of noise. We got so scared that we hid behind the bushes crying. It was enormous for us then because we were just kids and it's only one of those industrial lift. I mention this one because my little one right now gets really scared whenever she sees the vacuum and the mower. Not so much with the mower because we always stay outside whenever her dad mow the yard so she will get used to the sound of it. But the vacuum, its not even running yet, she would just see it and she would start crying. Kind a opposite when she was a baby. Usually it would make her stop crying when she was a baby.

Stormy Week

This week has been pretty bad here in the DFW area. We have been hit by storm couple of days ago and it tore one of our tree at the back into half. And tonight there was another storm that came through. It wasn't as bad as the last one but actually have to leave early for class so we can go home before the storm came.

And then I just planted some new flowers in front of the house and tonight it got flooded from the water coming from the gutter. :( Too bad. I have to check it tomorrow to make sure it is still in the ground. Then we have to squeezed in my truck inside our little garage to make sure that it will be safe from hail.

Wow, there's just a lot of things that happened this week and it's not even over yet. By the way, we only have 3 more weeks for school and it is the end of the semester. And I still have plenty of stuff that I have to do for school. I think I'm going to have to slow down on my blogging so I can finish all my school stuff.

Well, I'm off to doing assignments for my Math class on Saturday.

Help with Buying and Selling Real Estate

Real Estate here in the US is really sporadic, sometimes it's up and sometimes it's down, just like with the stock market. But if you are selling your house, of course you want to be able to maximize the price that you can get. On the other hand if you are buying a house you want to get the house for as low as you can get it. It's always the opposite.

The North Idaho Rebates is offering rebates on real estate transactions for up to $10,000.00 for buyers and sellers. Mainly, their goal is to give back to buyers and sellers of the house.

So the question maybe, what are the steps in earning the cash reward? They have five(5) easy steps. First, you have to choose any home listed in the market. Second, is to call the North Idaho Team to represent you as a buyer's agent in the transaction. Third, is upon completion of your real estate transactions you will received a cash reward certificate from the North Idaho Rebates Team and a ONE YEAR Home Warranty for your new home. Fourth, is mail your cash rewards certificate as instructed. And the last one is, wait and received a check by mail when you redeem your certificate as instructed at the specified redemption.

What about for the seller? The question would be, what can we get? Well, this is the second phase of the program is to allow people who are selling their home to know that North Idaho Team will pay them $3000.00 rebate at closing and $10,000.00 rebate at closing if they don't sell your house within 65 days. They wanted to make sure that seller will feel confident and empowered that they are hiring the best agent that will work for them and will be held accountable.

So if you are looking in buying or selling a house, and of course you are in North Idaho, then you can give these guys a call.
