Curly Hair Issue

My hair is curly, not just the wavy type but the one wherein I need somebody to pull it for me so it will straighten up. I used to have it perm back then but then I got tired of doing that plus it gets a little bit expensive for my budget especially now that I am a stay at home mom.

The good thing about having a curly hair though is I don't have to put the rollers anymore just to get that "vavaboo" effect for my hair. Just put the right hair gel, twist your hair and use my hair dryer and blow some cold air and I have that gorgeous look. But having a curly hair gets really old, especially that I was born with it. I used to have a neighbor that would call me "curly" every time he sees me and he really gets into my nerve. So when I finally get a chance to have my hair perm, he stops calling me curly.

But like I said, it's getting really expensive. So what I did was bought me one of those infrashine flat iron that I can use whenever I want my hair to be straight. There are times that I don't have time to do it but whenever I need one, it's there. And I got it from http://www.misikko.com/unceflir1in.html

It saves me a lot of money and headache. Now all I have to do is grab my infrashine flat iron and I am all set.

Going Home....

This coming December it will 5 years since I left the Philippines. Wow, that's been a while. And right now I been dying to go home, even just for 2 weeks. One of my mom friend is going home this coming July and she will be there for a couple of months, I wish I could do that. She said that she is all packed with her luggage and just ready to go. But with all of the things that we have going on like having our baby, jobs and school it would be impossible to squeezed a long vacation. Let along the expenses that we have to save up so the 3 of us (me, hubby and baby)will be able to go home. But just the thought of having vacation and be able to go back makes me feel excited. Seeing our place, my friends, show my husband where I grow up and of course show off my little one. The mommy in me is really kicking in high gear.

But then again, when I think of going home, it makes me wonder if 2 weeks is enough. There's just a lot of things that I want to do and places to go to, plus people to visit. I would have to cross my finger with this. Hopefully, after I am done with school, we can go home. Hopefully...

Get An Edge With Your Career - Get Certified

If you are in the computer business or your major is in computer science then getting a Cisco certification is one of the best decision that you will make. Not only that you get the proper training but you get plenty of hands on. And let me tell you, if you are in the computer industry, the hands on part is the one that you have an edge on. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science but I feel that I did not get the much needed training to be able to succeed with this fast growing IT Industry. Although most of the people that I know who are in this type of industry are really updating themselves with the latest information with the technology but having a certification will still be an edge for employment and promotions.

I remember when I was looking for a job, most of the companies qualification is that you have a certification and sadly I don't have those. But I have always wanted to do it, just didn't find the time.

Cisco is offering a wide range of training depending on your expertise. They do training for designs (this is the one I like), routing and switching, security, voice and wireless. And of course this also applies to personal and business entity. They also offer information on career path to give you an idea where you are heading for each certification that you take. So if you wanted to get an edge and be ahead of your career the certification program is really for you.

A Prayer for the MV Princess of the Stars victims and their families

This prayer tag is with regards to the MV Princess of the Stars tragedy and was started by Rocks. My heart goes out to all the victims - those who survived and those who were not lucky - and to their families as well. I also offer this short prayer to all the other victims of Typhoon Frank, which include the fishing boats that sank off Aurora and the provinces that were badly hit.

Prayer for the MV Princess of the Stars fatalities and survivors.

Dear God, we pray that you comfort each bereaved family everyday as they grieved for their loss, we pray that you will supply all their needs, we pray for the survivors that they may have a good life after the tragedy, that you will bless them and let them know in the deepest part of their heart that in spite of what have happened, you LOVE and CARE for them. This we pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

My Daughter Is Growing Really Fast...

Yes, she is growing really fast that sometimes I think I am missing a lot of stuff that I should be doing with her. I wrote on my previous post before that my daughter is getting really good at learning her ABC's, that was just a couple of weeks ago and now she can actually say all the letters. Except that sometimes when she see the letter X she would say Y. And since I have been going to school for the past 2 and a half week now, she get's to stay with daddy and my husband told me that they have been practicing counting from 1-10 also. Although she cannot identify how the numbers looks like when you point it to her, she can pretty much recite the numbers 1-10. And I am really ecstatic and proud about it at the same time I am almost scared to go home one night and find out that she can use ink pens and start writing her name.

Now maybe that was a little exaggeration, but just the thought that she can do all these things and she is not even 2 years old yet, makes me think that she is growing and learning really fast and one day I might just wake up and she is driving her own car and getting ready to move out of the house. The moving part, I don't think I will be ready for that.

I Want A Custom Drapes

I like anything custom and handmade. My curtains in the living room it took me a while to decide on what fabric to pick and what color, and finally when I have an idea on what color and fabric, it's time for the design. And let me tell you, that was a headache, it would have been nice if somebody just chose the design and then that's it.

But I like the idea that I have to decorate my house and make it fit for my family. That's why when we decided to buy a house, although we can barely afford it, I know that it will be a fun project for me and my husband.

And now, I have been wanting to have a custom drapes for our bedroom but just cannot find the time to sew one because of my busy schedule. But I am still hoping that by the end of this year, we can go ahead and decorate our bedroom.

Catching Some Emotions

I have taken this picture a while back.. first week of June I believe and just didn't have the time to post it, but I love it because I was able to catch my little one's emotion at that moment. One of those precious moments that I want to hang on to. :) She was playing on the play area in the mall and she was just trying to climb the make believe egg on a plate. I also posted two other pictures of her taken at the same time but they were the total opposite because on the picture on my designer blog, she was just all happy. There's also another one entry for wordless Wednesday on Vhiel's Corner and the photo was taken yesterday after we got home from the doctor's office.

Eye Prescription Was High

This morning me an my daughter were running late with her checkup for her eyes. She has been having some issues with her eyes since she was about 15-16 months. Her left eye, sometimes the right eye also is crossing (lazy eyes) and so we went to 2 different ophthalmologist and to make the story short they basically have the same diagnosis.

So the past couple of months she has been wearing glasses, although we haven't been keeping up with it because she keeps taking them off. The first time she had the glasses, the prescription were 2 for the right eye and 4 for the left eye. Although I am not sure if it was that accurate because she was crying the whole time the doctor was checking her. But today, she did pretty good. She let the doctor check her and she was very cooperative and I am glad because this time, it was probably more accurate.

The sad thing was her prescription went up (the doctor said the older they get, the higher is the prescription on the lenses). Now her left eye was 8 and the right is 9 but she is going to wear 6 and a 7. While we were there I saw some medical jewelry and I thought they were really pretty.

Hopefully, after all these wearing of glasses her eyes would be okay.

Absolute Calm- This Is What I Need

With all of the stress that I am going through with my summer school I absolutely need AbsoluteCalm. I have been stressed lately because of my summer school and it is something that I really need to learn because it is the basic for my nursing course. That is if I get in, better yet the phrases would be "if I passed my biology class". I have been sleeping late because I have to read my books and then in the morning have to wake up early in order to bring my daughter to her story time in the library. Then of course, it's not only the school, there's the house, the laundry, cleaning, I am all stressed out.

I need a feel good feeling so my mind can relax a little bit at the same time calm my body and relax my nerves in stressful times like this so I can focused and passed my class.

I think I am going to check out this new product called AbsoluteCalm and see if it's going to help me with my stress and calm my nerves and help me to focus.

I can probably change my pattern of sleeping also. Sleep early and then wake up really early and do all the things that needed to be done for school. In this way, I will have enough energy.

My 3rd Week Of Summer School

I can't believe that it has been 2 weeks since I started with summer school. And I am on my third week now. Last Saturday we had our first test and I am not sure if I passed that test. It was really bad. I mean the test wasn't to hard but I guess I just studied the wrong information plus my professor did not really do a very good explanation on the topic. All he does is read the slide shows that he had. Comes Tuesday, we are going to do our first practical exam on the Lab. Well, that part might be harder than the lecture. And right now I am trying to finish my lab report for the Mealworm experiment that we did and I am out of source and words.

Well, I guess I am off to finishing my report.

Do You Have A Memorable Vacation?

What I love about having a vacation is that you can get away and create good memories that you can cherish. I remember when I was in the Philippines we went to Baguio with the rest of my female friends. It's just bonding time for us girls, no guys allowed. Well actually, we have a guy with us. We rented out a house from his aunt so we kind a hang out with him for a little bit plus he knows the ins and outs of the place so he sort of like our tour guide. There were six of us and the first night we were there we went to a bar where you can dance and just they have live band. But before we went to the bar, we actually had some shots of tequila (those where the days) and that was the first time that I was so drunk, I feel like the room was upside down. I think it was that time that we just don't want anything to do with men. So after we had shots we headed out to the bar and drunk some more. Talking about getting drunk. Good thing we have our "Kuya" (big brother)as our tour guide or else who knows what happen. That's just one of those times that I missed a lot, being able to just go and get crazy.

Sunday Afternoon With My Daugther

Entry for Wordless Wednesday and Weekend Snapshot

Our Sunday afternoon was spent outside the house playing. I bought her some colored chalk that she can use to make some doddles on our pathway. And last night she saw it and started crying so I told her that we are going to use it today. So I open it and what did she say? She said "Oh my!" Yup, you got that right, she is saying oh my whenever she is excited about new things. So we stayed outside and I draw a couple of flowers for her. She keeps giving me the chalk and wants me to draw so we made a little garden on the pathway. Then after that, she started doing her famous running with her pink squeaky shoe. Literally running until she was tired.

So after that running, she must have felt hot and when I asked her if she wants to swim and play in the water, with no hesitation she said, "Swim, swim... water." We head inside to change and by the way, the reason why we were outside is because my dear husband is vacuuming our house. Isabelle tend to get scared with the vacuum so we head outside. The vacuum sounds like a supercharger when we are using it so, I guess the noise is scaring her.

After we changed we head outside and she started playing with the water. I made it into like a fountain so she can play with the water and she usually say "rain...." We did that for a while and after I fill up the little pool that we have, she played with the water in the pool and did some lounging, toddler style.

Finally, she got tired of swimming and we head inside. Change her clothes and then gave her some warm milk, rock her a little bit and she feel asleep.

Need A Facelift?

The other day, I was asking my husband how are we going to look like when we get old. I told him that we'd probably be all sagging and wrinkly. And then he mentioned about Botox Chicago. So I told him, by that time 20 to 30 years I am not sure if we can afford botox and beside he hates needles so I am not sure how's that going to work for him.

Sometimes, we just can't help but wonder about our future. Hopefully after 10 years we are stable enough to afford this luxury.

1. How did you meet your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend?
Answer: I met Byron online. Can you tell that the online community has been a huge part of my daily life. We both have a profile on one of those dating sites and I happen to browse around one day, saw his profile and send him a smiley face. That's the only thing you can do if you are not paying for the service. And he sent me a message back and we started chatting after that. We were both in Texas and just lives about 30 -40 minutes from each other.

2. Where did you went in your first date?
Answer: We went to see a movie by Vin Diesel called Riddick. We were both into movies.

3. When was your first intimate kiss?
Answer: Hmmm... cannot remember.. I think when I went to his apartment. Not sure though..

4. How many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she had in the past? Do you honestly know?
Answer: Quite a few, I think 3 or 4

5. What is his/her ethnicity?
Answer: Caucasian

6. What is his/her favorite food?
Answer: Steak... and he loves sinigang na baboy.

Answer: His voice is usually loud.

Answer: There was really no huge proposal thing... one day he just told me that he want to marry me...

Have You Seen This??

I was browsing around today on youtube and I saw this video called Bean Boozled. Take a look at it and tell me what you think?

The guy was trying to compare the taste of Caramel Corn vs. Moldy Cheese. Who wants moldy cheese or caramel corn. You can see on the facial expression of the guy that the taste was really bad specially when he tried the caramel corn.

The video though was alright. The guy was really funny and was able to capture that facial reaction when he was trying the bean.
