Summer is almost here...

Summer is almost here and I am sure a lot of families are already planning summer vacation. My sister's family is heading to Canada for summer and they are going to ride on a train. Now that is something exciting. I wonder what are we going to do for summer.

I just want to take a break from school. I am so drained that I just excited that summer is almost here. I don't even care right now if we are going to do something this summer. Although we might do something. It all depends on what we can come up with. But if ever that we are going somewhere I would like to check out some historic places. I found a site online and they were talking about boutique hotels and I got curious about it. So now I can't stop thinking about visiting boutique. I know it's weird. I guess this is the effect of watching Twilight... Oh well.

But anyway, what's a great destination for summer? I would love to go to the beach and let me daughter experience and the sand. I haven't been in the beach for ages. And I haven't renewed my passport so I can't really travel right now, so beach here in Texas will be just as great.

Earth Hour 2009

Earth Hour invites one billion people in more than 2800 cities representing 83 countries to turn off their lights for one hour – tonight, Saturday, March 28 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Paris, Sydney, London, Cairo, New York, Los Angeles and Cape Town, will join together to demonstrate their commitment to energy conservation and sustainability. Here's how you can participate:

  • All you have to do to Vote Earth is turn your lights out for one hour tonight, Saturday, March 28 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm local time, in your city. Your light switch is your vote!
  • Set your computer's power management and save up to $60 on your electricity bill and nearly half a ton of C02 over the next twelve months. Climate Savers Computing Initiative provides instructions on how you can save electricity all year long through efficient computing.
  • Join Earth Connect and share your opinions about climate change through blogs, e-mails, and Twitter. The goal is to gather one billion words to present at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December.
  • If you are affiliated with a college, help your university reduce its environmental impact by adopting green computing practices. Pledge to Power Down for the Planet and create a video to teach others about the importance of energy efficient computing in the fight against climate change.

Earth Hour is about more than dimming lights for sixty minutes; it’s about making a commitment to reduce energy consumption throughout the year. As Google's business grows, we want to make sure we minimize our impact on the Earth's climate through responsible environmental practices every hour, every day.

Officially over (winter) and spring is here..

For those who don't like the winter and the cold it's time to celebrate. It is official over and spring is here. However, for those who have seasonal allergy spring awaits sneezing and runny nose. For the past couple of weeks I have been having my allergy and it's really a pain. For once I can't finish something here in the house. If I take some medicine I get sleepy so I ending taking naps. But at least I can still control it.

This week I have not much attack, probably because we have a new carpet and the house smells different now. Although I still have it during the early morning specially if it is cold. I think one of the reason also that my allergy keeps attacking is because of the smell of the carpet. Although we have a dehumidifiers at home I can still smell it. Sometimes I think having such a kin smell is a curse.

But I am just glad that spring is finally here and we can start staying outside more. What do you look forward in spring?

My New Addiction - "Twilight"

I know I am a little bit behind when it comes to this. Now I know why people has been blogging about the movie before it even came out of the theater. It was freaken great. Me and my husband watch it last night and I am all thumbs up. I may have to watch the movie again but I will wait until we buy the DVD. I am also planning of buying the book and maybe read it this summer. I want to buy all the books but I have to wait and read the first one first. I wanted to get all the juiciness of the story. I feel like there were some stuff that were not included in the movie.

I can't remember the last time I got really engrossed with a movie so this is something really good.

And I found this great trailer for the next movie "new moon" and I thought I'd share it here.

Oh and did I say that I found a full version of the movie? Yes, watch it here.

I'm a Mother; I'm a Wife..

I got a tag today from Eds and I haven't been doing any tags since ages. Since the issue of Technorati lowering all the stats, I don't find it helpful anymore plus the fact that I don't have time to really do them anymore. But from time to time, whenever I get a chance I do them though.

So this one is called I'm a Mother; I'm a Wife..... that's why I am doing it. It's something related to my blog. Recently, I made some changes on this blog and I want to make sure that I stick to those changes. They are not really visible changes but something has change. Hopefully those changes will do good as far as the ranking of my blog in the blogging world.

Okay so back to the tag.

~ Parenting Style ~

1. Do you exercise full or minimal control over your child’s / children’s behavior?
It's a shared responsibility between me and my husband. However, since I am at home most of the time I have more control but when he is home I let him do it.

2. Do you expect your child / children to obey 100% or let her / him / them do what pleases her / him / them?
Children will be children. We should all know that... we been there. So you can't expect your child to behave if the parent itself is not. Although I would love for my child to be well behave all the time... but then again I will away the chance for her to learn more if I will control everything.

3. Do you welcome discussion or you simply set rules?
Discussions is definitely welcome... except when it's something that don't need any.

4. Do you reprimand?
Yes I do. Time out is coming soon too!

5. Do you use spanking for punishment?
Hmmm... maybe soon. But not right now. Hopefully not. Right now we still do the talking part and explaining... lots of explaining.

6. Do you use some kind of a reward System for motivation?
A lot...

7. Do you enjoy being a Parent?
I never realized how rewarding and tiring to be a parent but I will not trade it for something else.

8. Are you a hands-on Parent or do you have a full-time Nanny?
Full time mommy... no nanny..

9. At what age would you let your child make simple decisions for himself / herself?
I have no particular age... because even right now there are times that I let her decide for herself. Simple things that she can do, I usually let her choose. It's a great way to start the decision making. Although I still give her options.

10.Do you and your Husband have the same Parenting Style?
There are times that we are alike... but a lot of times we are not.

~ Wife Style ~

7. How long have you been married?
I been married since August of 2004. So that would make almost 4 1/2 years.

8. How do you feel about being a Wife?
Being a wife has a lot of things to consider. Its different when you are just boyfriend and girlfriend.

9. What has been your typical sleeping attire since you got married?
Hmmm... pretty much the same when I was single... tank and sleeping with my underwear. Sometimes... night gowns...

10. How do you show how appreciative you are of your Husband?
That's a good question. I usually buy him something or do something for him.

11. What do you do when your Husband annoys you?
I tell him he is annoying me... or do the silent treatment.

12. You are buying or planning to buy your first house as Husband and Wife….
We already bought our starting home. And we are constantly in the process of renovations. By the time we are done renovating its time to buy a new home. :(

13. How does your house look like at the end of the day when Hubby gets home?
There are times that it's messy.. usually toys and clothes (when I'm doing laundry and folding) but most of the time it's well put. The kitchen area though is always in bad shape. :)

14. How do you feel about running a household?
Big responsibility but it's fun at the same time. As long as me and my husband is doing it together I think we can manage it.

15. What is the sweetest gift you have given your Husband so far?
Wow... I'm not sure.. I have to ask him that one. I have given him a lot of gifts so I don't know which one.

For all the moms and dads out there, grab the tag and share it with your other parents as well.

Baby Bedding

Now that we have a new carpet and a new look for all the room, I think its time to get a new baby bedding for Isabella's room as well. The bedding that is on her bed right now was still the bedding that she had when she was younger. Maybe that's why we can't make her sleep on her room still.

Oh, so that's the issue. I think the reason why I never really updated or bought new bedding is because she never really uses the bed. Let me take that back, she is using it but only when where changing diaper. Yup! The bed became a changing bed instead of "somebody" sleeping there.

Maybe... just maybe she will start sleeping on her bed soon. But for now it won't hurt if I shop around for new bedding. At least I have something in handy and ready once she started sleeping on it.

Do you have any tips on how to make your toddler start sleeping in her bed? If you have, do share it with us. I love to hear from fellow parents.

Ahhhh the smell of the new house...

A few days ago I blog about having a new carpet and that I can't wait to have it installed in the house. Well, guess what we have a new carpet.... whohoo! I haven't had the chance to take pictures for we have been busy putting the house together and doing an overhaul (cleaning).

Last Tuesday we had the carpet people and our day started really early. They started the installation at around 9:30 A.M. I can't believe that for such a tiny house we were able to stash a bunch of junks inside the house. So they started with Isabella's bedroom which by the way is looking like a play area now rather than a room. Well, basically it is a play area for her. She is sleeping with us so her room is just a play area. Then the next one was the media room/office/guest room. And then next is the master's bedroom and the last one was the living area. And what a great look. No more pink carpet and smelly carpet.

So after the installation of the carpet we have to put together and re arrange the furniture. We have to do it one room at a time or else we are going to get insane. We started with the living area. There's a not a whole of stuff in the living area so its faster. Plus it will give us an area to were we can take break. And my little girl can play as well while we clean up.

After the living room the next one is my daughter's bedroom. We move the play area that we made on the living room to her bedroom and move her bed on the other side of the wall at the same time I sorted out all her toys and throw all the one that she is not playing with. Well more of like putting it aside and donate it later. The sorting out took forever. Good thing she was sleeping while I was working on her bedroom. Oh I totally forgot about the media room. It was the second room that we work on. There's a lot of big stuff on that room so it was actually faster to work on. Although my husband ends up working on the rest of the room yesterday. We didn't get to clean all the stuff on that room but it was put together.

Then the next one was the master's bedroom. We decided to move our bed to accommodate our daughter. So right now the bed is move all the way to the wall so our little girl is safe. She is the one on the end where the wall is. (We want to avoid the falling part so we move the bed to the wall). It actually feels a little weird but the room feels more roomy.

After we finish the all the room I feel like my back is going to break. It was sore. Oh, after the room, we still have the kitchen to clean. Remove all the debris from the stuff that we put there. By the time we finish it was 10 P.M and we haven't had any dinner.

While waiting for the dinner and my husband to finish outside, I was able to browse online for a little bit and saw information about the best diet pill. Tuesday was a long day for us. Around 11P.M. we were in bed....sore and ready to sleep.

I will post some pictures of the after design as soon as I get a chance. I think you are all going to love it.

Perfect Timing!

Two more days to go and we are going to have a new look in the house. Tuesday morning the carpet people will be coming over and will be changing our carpet. Finally! I'm excited as can be. Imagine we been planning this since the first day we move in the house and since then there has been a lot of changes. We remodeled the whole kitchen, added another closet in the master's bedroom. Made a closet into an office, painted the inside of the house, changed the trim and the other day my husband started changing the doors so when the carpet installer arrive on Tuesday it's all set.

But then comes the fun part... the moving of the furniture. We were suppose to get the carpet this week but since me and my husband are both busy with school and at the same time work, we re scheduled it for this coming week since it is spring break. Were not going anywhere this year for spring break so we can do some renovations in the house. Instead of spending it for a vacation we opted to have the carpet installation instead. It's been an overdue plan so its time to take some actions.

Also, after the carpet we are planning of painting the master bedroom and start renovating it too. That part of the plan has been postponed as well due to the fact that we can't start until the carpet has been all replace. And I found this lovely bed and I got the inspiration of the colors and motif of the design from this.

And by the way, do you know that this bed is only $1,399.00 from Boyles Distinctive Furniture. I really love the blue color on this one. Just lovely.

In a blink of an eye...

It seems like it was just yesterday when I was blogging about things to do for the summer, places to go and people to see.

And now spring is almost here... oh and by the way, did you remember to set your clock? Last night was the daylight saving time changes. I remember last year, we forgot all about it and we went to church and it was all a mess... in other word we missed the Sunday mass because we forgot to set our clock to the new time. And last night I was trying to finish as mush on my take home test and I was awake until 4:30 am... I was just going to stay late until 2 but comes 2am I already lost an hour. But anyway, so much for that.

Now let's go back to the summer issue. For the past couple of days we haven't been using our heater. It's been really nice but our air conditioner is also turn on. Right now I set it up to 74.. just enough to make the house feels cozy.. not to hot and not to warm either. My daughter caught the coughing and runny nose that me and my husband had. We are almost done with it but now my daughter has it too. So I want to make sure the house is cozy enough to where she will not be sweating or cold.

I have been talking to my college friend who is in California and I was telling her that maybe we can plan a summer get away for a couple of days and we can go to south padre island here. And since she hasn't been in Texas it will also be a great time to kick back and enjoy the place. We also wanted to meet some of the members of the organizations that we were bought affiliated with during college and until now so we can meet them personally. The organization is a country wide and different cities have their own council/chapter so it's impossible to meet everybody, but since there are members who are also here in the US we thought of maybe doing like a get together too. But my plan was just to do it like a weekend thing. My husband is fairly new to his job and we only have 3 days to do it. He works 4 days and 3 days off. So she suggested that if its just 3 days they won't really get to see a lot. Instead she suggested that we fly to California and spend the weekend there and go to different place.

I guess it wasn't too bad of an idea. We can stay in Anaheim California hotel and then just spend the weekend. Well more of like an early weekend, since my husband day off is Monday - Wednesday. I still can't make up my mind though on what to do. Anyway, I still have a few more months to decide on what to do. For now I think I will have to enjoy the coming spring and the things that we can do.

Oh, by the way, if you live in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, check out the Dallas Arboretum for things to do with your kids. They have some fun stuff every Monday and Tuesday and this place is really gorgeous. Which reminds me, I need to tell my husband that I want to do there maybe next weekend and do some professional photos. Our daughter is growing so fast and we been planning of having a professional take photos of the 3 of us so we have something to display in the house. Hopefully I wont forget. There's just so much stuff going on that I don't even know how to manage my time anymore.

Missing in action

If you have noticed in my blog, I haven't been blogging for a while now. Missing in action huh? Well, not that I am missing online because I am still online everyday. I just cannot find time to do any blogging with all of the things on my plate. Lots of reading too and take home tests. Plus of course my little girl is keeping me busy as well and the online community that I have created. I know it is going to mess up my time. I just knew it.

I can't even find time to shop around, let alone window shop or go to the mall. Lately, we been cope up inside the house. Well, for one it's too cold to go out. But, lately... have you noticed that the weather has changed. I mean I can actually turn off the heater and not let it run and there are times that I have to turn on the air conditioner because it gets warm inside the house. Well at least I can start wearing sexy lingerie... wishing!

I thought I'd blog something nice here but I just can't think of anything. This is one of those times when no matter what I do, I can't think any topic to write about. So instead of squeezing my head to try to come up with a subject to talk about I'd taught I let you in about school.

School is definitely something else. I learned more new things this time around taking Anatomy. There's some stuff that I never thought happen, like at the age of 40 our brain stop developing. It doesn't mean that we stop learning but the physical development itself stop. Maybe that's why they say that life begins at 40... just wondering.

Just now realize

It's been really busy lately and I haven't had the chance to blog a lot. And I feel like I have been neglecting my blogs but I just have to prioritize things so I will be able to survive.

Today, I did some website for one of our friend for his business. We also did some editing for the image that he will be using for his magnets. And I have been doing some graphics for a while now and I just now realize that the type of file being used for magnets is a PDF. I thought you can just use any type of file in order to do magnets. Apparently, it has to be PDF. Well, we all learn something new everyday. Don't we?

Well, I haven't really had a lot of things to say. Just something that I want to jot down here in my blog to make sure I don't forget. I will be adding some more stuff maybe later on when I don't have a lot of things to do. Have you been busy for a while? I sure do miss blogging.
