Little Onion Blossom Pageant

Yesterday was an exhausting day but very rewarding. Not just for me but for the whole family. April 24, 2010 - Princeton, Texas - is the Onion Festival here in our city and to celebrate it different activities were done in the city.

One particular one is the Pageant - search for Little Miss Onion Blossom. I register my daughter for the 3-4 category and enter her on the pageant. She seems to be very excited about it when we started practicing for the question and answer a few weeks ago.

And yesterday was the payoff day. I've added a video that my husband took during the interview portion.


And the video below was during the announcement of the winner. Its a bit out of place because I was so excited when she won. My hands were all jittery and shaky... I feel like I was the one who won. It was her first major thing and she did great on it!

Investing for the future

Have you heard about investing in gold coins? If you asked me I haven't really had a chance to check out information on how you can do it, where do you start and how much money you need in order to do it. Here's a few tips on how to relieve the pain and itching.

1. Take nonprescription pain relievers. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can help with pain. You can also ask your physician about taking Aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve) which can help with pain and swelling.

2. Applying ice several times a day for 10 minutes at a time. Using a

House lighting is very important in every room in the house. Using too few lights in the room, specially in the bathroom makes it gloomy and could be a potential hazard. When we bought our house the light in the bathroom was too bright and it doesn't really match with our style. It has never been updated since the house was built in the 80's and it just have to go. So when we found the bathroom lights that matches our taste we just have to changed it.

We Got Rip Off

A few weeks ago, my husband bought new batteries for our camera. He changed the old one and loaded the new one and then uploaded all the photos to our computer. The camera was probably on for an hour or so before I turn it off. When I try to turn it on to delete all the photos since it has been move to the computer, it will not let me. The camera was acting as if it was broken.

So I thought it was just that we left the camera on for a long time that the battery got all used up. And since my husband bought those 4 pieces, I went ahead and replace it with the remaining two. And went to use it for the egg hunting festival. I probably took about 6 to 7 photos and when I try to used it for the 8th time to take pictures the camera said that the battery was exhausted and just died down. It was odd since I just put a new battery on the camera so I left it alone for a while maybe I did something to it.

After a while I tried it again and it did the same thing. Apparently, the battery was indeed done. Its not good anymore. I feel like we got rip off and we didn't really get our money back. Battery replacements was supposed to last for a while not just 6-7 photos at a time.

My husband got it from one of the store in our place and I guess it has been on their shelve for a while and for some reason it's not good anymore.

Photo Card

Summer, end of school days, vacation and most especially graduation is just around the corner. It's almost May and for many seniors, it must be something very sentimental but at the same time exciting. As far as I can remember my graduation was something I really look forward to. Can you imagine no more deadlines, no more assignments... but then again if you think really hard, its also the time to part ways with classmates and maybe friends...specially if you are going to college somewhere else beside your city. And then if you are graduating from college of course there's that dreadful job hunting.

For those people who wants to share the joys of their friends and relatives for such festive occasions you can always do so by sending them a photo cards with your congratulations. I hope when its time for me to graduate again, I'll get one of this neat photo cards from friends and families. I'm not really picky when it comes to gift, its that thought that count as they say, but having something nice would be nice as well.

Something Amazing

So finally, I am going to blog about the new LCD HDTV that we got for our living room. It's the perfect size for our cozy living room.

And now that we have this new television, it feels like the other one on the media room has seen its days. It's bigger than the one that we have on the living room right now but as far as the pictures are concerned, the new one is definitely much much better.

I just finished watching the movie, P.S. I Love You on cable and the pictures are amazing. It was definitely worth buying the new television.


Oh, and since I mentioned the movie... Oh my goodness my eyes is sore from crying. I was moved and touch by this movie. It's definitely worth watching if you asked me. I liked the plot, the story as well as the characters. I so love how they portray each character and how the story was done. And if you listen and really pay attentions to the things that they are saying, it will moved you. Once scene that I really love is when Jerry (played by Gerard Butler) was daring his wife to sing and when she started singing how Jerry was looking so in love with his wife. It was great how he played the role. For me this movie is worth watching... specially for those who wanted to move on and at the same never forget the precious things that they have in life.

Need a Room Makeover

It feels like its a constant struggle trying to finish up our media/office room. It's actually the third bedroom in our house which we turn into a media/office room. But now that we have this new television in the living room we hardly use the media room. The only time that I really go in the room is when I need to use the printer... that's it.

So now, I am looking for some office furniture that we can use for the room. A new chair will also look good. The chair that we have their right now is a bit old and has seen days. It will probably last for a little bit more and surely we are going to get our money for it.

We may also repaint it just to make it a little bit brighter. The color of the room right now is chocolate brown with some grayish tone which makes it really dark... just right for a media room, but too dark for an office. If I am really going to decorate and do the makeover, I wanted something eclectic... but you know its always have to be compromise since my husband wanted something different.
